Mobile Hyperbaric Chamber

Kingsley Coaches, Inc. contacted us about one of their special projects; a mobile hyperbaric chamber. When complete, this rig will be 50 feet long and weigh 65,000 pounds.

A standalone hyperbaric chamber would cost millions and only be available in one location. Putting wheels on one will allow several hospitals and clinics to offer a potentially lifesaving service to their patients.

We started with a 2005 Kenworth T2000 model tractor with a sleeper. Total wheelbase was 232 inches. The plans call for the final length to be 50 feet long. 22.5 feet will need to be added to the frame.

This frame not only must be lengthened but strengthened to handle the weight of the hyperbaric chamber and all the equipment that goes with it. First steps include disassembly of the truck, removal of the drive axles, tanks, air lines, electrical lines and anything else that goes back to the rear. Rob and Dick will be working on this one.
