More Body work

Because of the pervasive rust that we found in every nook and cranny, we opted to do an Electro-Chemical dip of the car. Because no acidic chemicals are used, it is a safe and effective way to kill the rust, reveal all the small pinholes and get an excellent surface for metal prep and paint.

The process to dip and prime a car involves 12 steps. Our friends at Precision Restoration & Paint will first media blast the car to remove all paint and filler and then a dip into their reverse electrolysis tank to remove the rust. Once the rust is removed, the car is pressure washed to remove any remaing rust and then it is e-coated by dipping in a vat of waterborn paint that is electrically applied. The car is then baked to cure and cross-link the coating.
