The Frame Twist

After some dissassembly and removing the body from the pan, a twist in the frame was noted. Because of the direction of the twist it was almost certainly the result of the collision

With the pans welded in and most of the topside rust repaired, we will tackle the twist in the frame. We'll tackle the body twist later.

The top half of the frame has been repaired and new pan halves installed. There is additional work to be done on the bottom of the frame head but we'll do that after the front beam, transmission and motor have been removed for their restoration.

We drew a line across the rear torsion bars to really show the twist. The twist is actually in the front. If the rear were held horizontal, the front would be higher on the left side showing a counter-clockwise twist. In this picture power is being applied to remove the twist. The right side is being held down while upwards pressure is being applied to the left side
The twist is out and the front and rear are parallel again. The line in this picture is prefectly horizontal. The body is twisted counter-clockwise in this view, just like the frame.
