Heater Channels and Crossmembers

The combined heater channel/reinforcement rail unit will be welded together. Next we will weld it back in.

Because we know the car was hit hard in the front, we'll check the "squareness" of the body before the heater channel is permanently welded back in. We don't want to weld in the heater channels when the vehicle is not square.

How we did it

The aftermarket reinforcement rails are prepped and drilled. The rails are welded to the heater channels first. The welds are ground down for a smooth look.
Dozens of welds. Nearly ready to install. The rails are test fit.
It is important to measure to check squareness. The unit is tacked in place Tack welded at the door post..
More tacking and measuring The crossmenber is in place. The front end gets welded.
Under the rear quarter panels Welded in place.
